Our project went really well. Too bad we didn’t win!
Ringtone we’ll be using for the project
Rating 3.8
When our robot find out that the baby’s diaper is wet, she will blink her eyes, shout out loud (it helps as well for the visually challenged). At the same time, if you are watching movies downstairs or in your neighbor’s house, it will send you an email or text message.
In our project, when our phone receives a text message or email from the robot, it will alert you to change baby’s diaper and play a cute baby crying sound, downloaded from the Internet. Click here to hear or download it

We ended up returning the kit from radio shack as we saw a better one at Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Elenco-AmeriKit-Learn-Solder-Kit/dp/B0009Z3JJA ($14.62) (Now it is $15.44):
So far our parts cost for the project is $68.61. ($53.98 for Budget Pack for Arduino (Arduino Uno R3) Item# Uno w/328, plus $14.63 for Elenco AmeriKit Learn to Solder Kit – Elenco Electronics Inc.)
USER’S MANUAL
The purpose of this device is to make you and your baby’s life easier. It alerts the parents that the baby’s diaper is wet.
HOW TO USE: You place the sensor in a baby’s diaper and it detects moisture from the baby’s diaper. The robot’s eyes blink and the robot’s mouth says what you program it to say.
You can do so many things with an arduino! You can program it to make sound, you can program it to light up, and you can even program it to sense water ( which is what Claire and I did for our tech fair project).

Since we’ll put LEDs as eyes for the robot, we’ll have to do soldering work. It is the process to put the wires and parts together in a permanent way.
A soldering kit from radio shack like the following will be used in our project:
It comes with soldering iron, some solder, and a mini stand to hold the iron.
Our arduino project is to make an arduino that can sense water, and put it into a “diaper”, which goes on a baby doll. Then, when the doll you-know-whats, it alerts the parent to change the “diaper”.
